Irish Return Home for Seven-Game Homestand – Notre Dame Fighting Irish – Official Athletics Website

SOUTH BEND, Ind. – The Notre Dame softball team returns home to close out the regular season with a seven-game homestand at Melissa Cook Stadium, beginning tomorrow against Central Michigan and Wednesday versus Valparaiso. Both games will start at 5 p.m. on ACC Network Extra. 

The Irish are coming off their second-biggest ranked win of the season on Sunday, taking down 17th-ranked Duke 6-5 in Durham. Addison Amaral hit two two-run home runs to lift the Irish past the Blue Devils. Notre Dame went 2-2 last week after taking down Michigan State last Tuesday in East Lansing.

Notre Dame is 7-6 at Melissa Cook Stadium this season, but have won five of its past seven games in South Bend. The Irish are 3-1 in midweek contests at home. Freshman Caroline O’Brien leads the team with a .480 batting average at home, while Shannon Becker (2.33 ERA) and Kami Kamzik (2.42 ERA) have paced the pitching staff in the home circle.

All-time, Notre Dame is 5-2 against Central Michigan and 37-2 against Valparaiso. The Irish are a combined 28-1 against the two upcoming opponents at home.
