Cats Fall to Aztecs in Game Two

SAN DIEGO, Calif. – The No. 13 Wildcats lost the second game of the weekend, 1-0, to the San Diego State Aztecs on Saturday afternoon.
 
Dakota Kennedy went 2-for-3 at the plate, recording two of Arizona’s three hits during the game. The Aztecs out-hit the Cats with five hits.
 
In another pitcher’s duel with the Aztecs, Kennedy got Arizona’s first hit of the game in the fourth inning with a single. San Diego State broke the tie in the fifth inning by taking advantage of a fielding error to score one run.
 
The Cats had one hit in the sixth and seventh innings but couldn’t complete the comeback. Ryan Maddox picked up the loss to fall to 3-1 on the season. She threw 4.1 innings and allowed four hits while striking out three Aztecs. Devyn Netz pitched the final 1.2 innings and did not allow a run to score on one hit.

Arizona will head to Houston for the final conference matchup of the season beginning Friday, May 2 in Houston, Texas.
