THE FLATS – With the 2025 volleyball season weeks away, junior right side Larissa Mendes (Fortaleza, Brazil) was named to the preseason all-conference team, the Atlantic Coast Conference offices announced today. The Yellow Jackets were picked to finish sixth in the Atlantic Coast Conference following a vote of the league’s head coaches.
Mendes returns to The Flats following an exceptional sophomore season. She began the 2024 season as a consistent starter for the Yellow Jackets and notched a career high 23 kills during the second match of the season against New Mexico State and tied her previous career high of 21 kills a week later against BYU. Through the first two months of the season, she proved to be a threat on offense to ACC opponents until an injury in October. Mendes battled back and returned to play less than a month later and despite her time away, finished third on the team for kills after averaging 2.42 kills per set.
