KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Glenn & Stacey Murphy Notre Dame Men’s Basketball Head Coach Micah Shrewsberry has been named to the National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC) Board of Directors. Shrewsberry was one of nine head coaches selected by the organization on Wednesday, representing all three NCAA divisions. The group began their term earlier this week in the annual NABC Board of Directors fall meeting.

The NABC Board of Directors is the NABC’s top leadership body, providing strategic oversight of the association’s daily operations and advocacy work. Coach Shrewsberry joins the following on the board: Baylor head coach Scott Drew, North Georgia head coach Dan Evans, Yale head coach James Jones, Pomona-Pitzer head coach Charles Katsiaficas, Liberty head coach Ritchie McKay, Kentucky head coach Mark Pope, Duke head coach Jon Scheyer and Illinois head coach Brad Underwood.

“As college athletics and the game of basketball undergo unprecedented transformation, it’s vital that coaches continue to present a unified voice and demonstrate sound national leadership,” said NABC Executive Director Craig Robinson. “These nine coaches were identified by their peers as ideal candidates to represent our over 5,000 members on the NABC Board of Directors, and their diverse perspectives will strengthen the NABC’s efforts to support the profession and grow the sport.”

The upcoming 2025-26 campaign marks Coach Shrewsberry’s third year at the helm of the Fighting Irish. He has bolstered his roster with the program’s highest-rated recruiting class in modern history. The class features top-rated prospect Jalen Haralson, along with consensus top-100 recruits Brady Koehler, Ryder Frost and Tommy Ahneman. Coach Shrewsberry also returns his core nucleus, including All-ACC guard Markus Burton. The junior is the third-highest returning scorer in the country this upcoming season after averaging 21.3 ppg a year ago.
