CHARLOTTE, N.C. – Coming off a record-breaking performance last Friday against Illinois, sophomore Morgan Gaerte was named ACC Co-Offensive Player of the Week, the conference announced Monday evening. It’s the first career honor for Gaerte.

A native of nearby Angola, Indiana, Gaerte  broke Kathy Cunningham’s record of 33 kills back on September 18, 1987 against William & Mary. The record had stood for over 37 years and was well before the rally scoring era (2008).

She became just the third player in Irish history to have three consecutive 20+ kill games and has the most kills (75) through the first three games of a season in program history.

Gaerte currently leads the conference this season with 5.0 kills per set and 5.53 points per set. She is ranked fifth nationally in kills per set and ninth in the country in points per set.

Notre Dame continues the 2025 season tomorrow evening against LSU inside Purcell Pavilion. Admission to all regular season matches is free and the first 600 fans will receive an LED Foam Stick.
