Texas A&M’s 2025 baseball team is receiving plenty of preseason praise, mainly due to the Aggies’ talented roster, led by plenty of star power at the plate and a young but deep pitching rotation led by returning ace Ryan Prager.
Still, junior outfielder Jace LaViolette is the standout name that has made nearly every headline this offseason, as the star hitter is just six home runs away from breaking the career Texas A&M record and cementing his name among the College Station greats.
Already being named to every preseason All-American list, Baseball America revealed last week that the future first-round draft selection is the site’s preseason Player of the Year pick.
While LaViolette must live up to the hype, Texas A&M’s deep batting lineup will relieve the pressure early, helping him ease into the season and get into a rhythm when SEC play begins.
Last season, LaViolette hit .305 for a team-record 29 home runs, pushing his career total to 50. He also tacked on 78 RBI and 87 runs, propelling him as one of the most feared hitters in college baseball.
Texas A&M will open the 2025 season with a three-game series vs. Elon starting on February 14.
