PHOENIX — The Arizona Wildcats (13-9, 3-6) dropped their series finale against the Arizona State Sun Devils (16-8, 5-1) by a final score of 10-6 on Sunday afternoon in Phoenix.
Left fielder Chase Davis and shortstop Nik McClaughry combined for five hits, including a three-run home run from Davis, and first baseman Kiko Romero drove in a pair of runs, but it wasn’t enough to get the Wildcats the win.
Starting pitcher Aiden May (2-1) took the loss after working four innings and striking out three. Right-handers Tony Pluta and Trevor Long covered the final 2.1 innings out of the bullpen and struck out two without allowing a baserunner.
