EUGENE, Ore. – Oregon third baseman Sabin Ceballos has been named to the 2023 ABCA/Rawlings Gold Glove Team, Rawlings Baseball announced on Twitter this afternoon.
Ceballos, a junior from Rio Grande, Puerto Rico, committed just four errors in a 121 chances in 2023. The Ducks third baseman started 58 of the 59 games he played in during the season, with 47 of the starts coming at third base. The Ducks compiled a 35-12 record in Ceballos’ starts at third. The first-team All-Pac-12 Conference selection had 79 assists and 42 putouts during the season.
Ceballos’ play at third featured a number of highlight plays during the season, including a crucial bare-handed charging play and throw to first on the run that ended a Vanderbilt threat in the Nashville Regional and helped secure a Ducks’ win.
Outfielder Colby Shade was one of six finalists in the outfield for a Gold Glove.
