Big 12 softball has provided a wave of fireworks through the first two weekends of conference play.
This past weekend, we saw a major upset when the Kansas Jayhawks knocked off one of the 15 best teams in the nation, the Baylor Bears. The Jayhawks had a strong weekend from the circle, allowing two runs in the opener and shutting out the Bears in the final two games of the sweep.
In arguably the series of the weekend, Oklahoma State took care of business against newcomer UCF. The series lived up to its potential; two of the three games were incredibly competitive.
Elsewhere, the Sooners and Longhorns erupted with big-time offensive output in their series sweeps of Texas Tech and BYU, respectively. The Red River rivals combined for 70 runs.
