The Alabama Crimson Tide baseball program landed a commitment from one of the top junior college outfielders in the country on Monday. Pearl River Community College transfer Bryce Fowler announced that he was transferring to Alabama via social media.
Fowler began his college career at Southern Miss. He spent two seasons with the Golden Eagles. Fowler spent his first season in Hattiesburg as a redshirt. As a redshirt freshman, Fowler registered three at-bats. He had one hit during his time at Southern Miss.
Following his second year with the Golden Eagles, Fowler transferred to Pearl River Community College. In one season in Poplarville, Fowler held a team-high .419 batting average. In 57 games, Fowler hit 11 home runs and drove in 52 runs. In addition, he stole 24 bases for the Wildcats.
Now, the native of Madison, Mississippi will look to continue his success on the diamond in Tuscaloosa next season. With Alabama expected to lose all three of its outfielders to the 2024 MLB Draft, Fowler will have the opportunity to come in and play early on.
