NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Vanderbilt’s Greysen Carter was drafted by the New York Yankees in the 2024 MLB Draft with the 152nd overall pick in the fifth round Monday.

Carter spent time as both a starter and reliever during the 2024 season for the Dores, collecting a 4-2 record with three saves. The hard-throwing righty has totaled 73.2 innings over three seasons with 67 strikeouts. He earned back-to-back saves in the series against Florida in April and totaled 11 strikeouts over 8.1 innings vs. Missouri on March 28, allowing no earned runs with just three hits.

All-time, Vanderbilt has more than 200 players selected in the MLB Draft including an NCAA-leading 148 since 2003.

Carter is the third Commodore taken in the 2024 MLB Draft after Bryce Cunningham was selected by the Yankees and Carter Holton was drafted by the Atlanta Braves in the second round.
