Anders, Butler Earn Second-Team All-American Selections

Two California softball student-athletes earned Softball America Preseason All-American team honors, announced Tuesday morning.
 
Senior Acacia Anders and Junior Elon Butler earned second-team recognition after being listed on Softball America’s 2025 Preseason Top 100 list Monday. Butler was listed at No. 29, while Anders followed closely behind at No. 33.
 
Anders is coming off a career year in which she posted season-highs in slugging percentage (.649), on-base percentage (.447), batting average (.327), hits (66), RBIs (43) and doubles (19) while tying a career-high in home runs (8) during the 2024 campaign. Her 19 doubles set a single-season program record. She was named to the All-Pac-12 Second Team following the regular season.
 
Butler is coming off a stellar sophomore campaign after finishing the season with a .760 slugging percentage and .351 batting average. She totaled 54 hits, 44 RBIs, 37 runs, 17 home runs and 12 doubles. Butler shared the 2024 Pac-12 home run title with teammate Lagi Quiroga, earning second-team all-conference honors. She continued racking up postseason honors after earning NFCA All-Region First-Team and NFCA Second-Team All-American recognition.
