Banner, Ferremi Named to America East Preseason All-Conference Team

BOSTON – University at Albany baseball student-athletes Dylan Banner and Ryan Ferremi have been named to the America East Preseason All-Conference Team, the league announced on Tuesday afternoon.
 
The conference announced its Preseason All-Conference Team along with its annual Coaches’ Poll, voted on by all seven of the league’s head coaches.
 

Banner, a junior from Plainview, N.Y., in his third season with the Great Danes, pitched 52.0 innings last season en route to a 4-2 record. His 4.85 ERA was good for 10^th overall in the conference. Banner held batters to just a .209 batting average, the lowest among all eligible pitchers in the America East. He allowed just 28 earned runs on 39 hits with 40 strikeouts throughout the year.  
 

Ferremi, a senior from West Islip, N.Y., batted .288 last season with an .821 OPS. The first baseman totaled 49 hits in 170 at-bats, notching nine doubles and three home runs. He knocked in 26 RBIs and recorded 29 walks, earning on OBP of .427. Ferremi started in nearly every game for the Great Danes, making 48 starts in 49 games played.
