HOUSTON — Jeremy Peña slugged a tape-measure, walk-off home run to center field off Blue Jays pitcher Jordan Romano in the bottom of the 10th inning to send the Astros to an 8-7 win in the series finale on Sunday at Minute Maid Park.
The homer snapped an 0-for-14 slump for Peña, who had struck out with two runners on base in the seventh inning. Peña sent the ball 425 feet over the center-field wall, setting off a huge celebration for the Astros.
The Astros, behind a two-run homer in the fourth inning from Michael Brantley, led, 5-2, before Zack Collins hit a two-out, three-run homer off starting pitcher Luis Garcia in the sixth inning to tie the game. After the Jays pulled ahead, Aledmys Díaz’s RBI single in the seventh tied it at 6.
