Gleyber Torres hit a walk-off homer in the ninth inning on Sunday at Yankee Stadium to give the Yankees a 2-1 win over the Rangers in Game 1 of a doubleheader.
Offense had been hard to come by for both teams on a cold day in New York, as the Yankees didn’t get their first hit until Aaron Judge singled to lead off the sixth, and Gerrit Cole twirled another gem, striking out 10 over 6 1/3 innings. His only run allowed came on his last batter, when Kole Calhoun took him deep on his 114th pitch.
