Tri-City Dust Devils (8-12 2H, 37-46) newcomer Mike Wilson both ignited the offense late and hit a walk-off double to help the home nine take a 4-3 11-inning victory over the Everett AquaSox (11-9 2H, 41-42) Saturday night at Gesa Stadium.

Wilson, who joined the Dust Devils on July 6, scored the first Tri-City run of the night in the bottom of the 8th inning after tripling down the right field line to lead off the inning. During the following at-bat, AquaSox catcher Andy Thomas sent a pickoff throw into left field, allowing Wilson to score from third to cut the Everett lead to 2-1.

Jose Guzman, who was at the plate when Wilson scored, then drew a walk, making it around to third on a sacrifice bunt and a groundout. Gabe Matthews then lined a two-out RBI single to right field to score Guzman and tie the game at 2-2.

Neither team scored in the 9th inning, and both teams scored with the automatic runner in the 10th. After Everett took a 3-2 lead in the top of the inning, D’Shawn Knowles struck an RBI single to right field to tie the game again at 3-3.

Tri-City then held the AquaSox off the board in the 11th, turning a double play on a line drive to erase the runner at second base. Dakota Donovan (3-2) got a strikeout to close the inning out, getting the win in relief.

The Dust Devils then got off to a tough start in the bottom of the 11th, with the automatic runner tagged out at third on a sacrifice bunt attempt. Mike Peabody, who laid down the bunt, then moved up to second on a Steven Rivas single.

Wilson then came up with two outs, hitting a high fly ball deep to left field. The ball landed on the warning track and hopped up against the wall, and Peabody came around to score the winning run.

Peabody also had two great defensive plays, including an incredible sliding grab down the left field line in foul territory in the 6th inning.

The Dust Devils bullpen came up big again after starter Ryan Costeiu gave his team a solid five-inning start, throwing six innings and giving up only an unearned extra-inning run. Offensively, Matthews and Guzman joined Wilson with multi-hit games.

The sixth and final game of the Dust Devils-AquaSox series takes place at 7:05 p.m. Sunday night at Gesa Stadium, on a Salute to Seniors Night presented by Active 4 Life. Lefty Brent Killam gets the start for Tri-City, with righty Prelander Berroa…
