Michigan State Baseball Hosting Winter Camps

EAST LANSING, Mich. — Michigan State baseball has three upcoming camps this winter and limited space is available.

The Spartans will host two advanced hitting clinics and a pro scout development camp.

The two advanced hitting clinics are for ages 12-18, with clinic I on Saturday, Dec. 3, with clinic II on Sunday, Dec. 4. Cost for each clinic is $120.

The pro scout development camp is for high school and junior college players, and will be held on Saturday, Feb. 11. Cost for each clinic is $185, with a pitchers only discount of $85.

Clinic I and II are hitting clinics centered around the “Five Foundations of Hitting” – all the components that the MSU baseball staff believes create the complete hitter. Included in the clinic will be lecture, drills, live batting practice, and video analysis. This is a hands-on clinic where players will learn all of the same drills currently used by the Michigan State Baseball program. The clinic will be held at MSU’s Indoor Practice Facility (IPF) located at McLane Baseball Stadium at Kobs Field.

At the Pro Scout Development Camp, players will receive detailed instructions regarding all baseball fundamentals used by the Michigan State coaches and players; proper throwing technique, fielding groundballs and fly ball techniques, along with the proper technique for hitting. The first session will be structured like a pro-style workout so the players will have a chance to showcase their skills in front of the entire Michigan State coaching staff along with professional scouts that will be in attendance. The late afternoon will include more skill development and evaluations, hitting stations, and pitchers will throw bullpens in front of the MSU coaching staff and scouts.

Space is limited for all camps, so early registration is encouraged.
