Arizona Walks Off Game Two in Extras, Evens Series Against Utah

TUCSON, Ariz. – No. 17 Arizona snapped Utah’s 11-game win streak with a walk-off walk in the ninth inning to win 10-9 on Saturday.
 
The Cats (20-4, 3-2 Pac-12) scored 10 runs on 11 hits. Four Wildcats had multiple hits – led by Olivia DiNardo who went 3-for-5. Sophia Carroll hit a three-run home run in the bottom of the ninth to tie the game and Allie Skaggs drew a bases-loaded walk to win the game.
 
Arizona scored first on an RBI double from Devyn Netz in the first inning. The Cats held the lead and kept Utah scoreless through four innings until giving up a solo home run and an RBI double in the fifth. Utah scored two in the top of the seventh to extend their lead to 4-1 on another solo home run and RBI double.
 
In the bottom of the seventh with two outs, DiNardo hit an RBI single to drive home Jasmine Perezchica and Ali Blanchard took advantage of a Utah error to bring the game within one. With the bases loaded, Paige Dimler came home on a passed ball to tie the game at 4-4.
 
Utah scored on a two-RBI single in the top of the eighth, but Arizona answered with back-to-back RBI singles from Netz and DiNardo to send the game to the ninth inning.
 
In the ninth, the Utes scored three on an RBI fielder’s choice and a two-RBI single.
 
Looking to rally in the bottom of the ninth, Dakota Kennedy hit a leadoff double and Izzy Pacho was hit by a pitch to put two runners on base for Carroll. The…
