Diamond Heels Open Four-Game Homestand With N.C. A&T

CHAPEL HILL, N.C. – Winners of four in a row, No. 15 North Carolina opens a four-game homestand Tuesday against North Carolina A&T at 4 p.m. at Boshamer Stadium. The Tar Heels will then face ACC Coastal Division foe Duke March 23-25 before hosting Coastal Carolina to close it out on March 30.

UNC is coming off a 17-7 road victory over Pittsburgh on Friday as the Tar Heels and Panthers only played the first game of their three-game due to adverse weather conditions. Mac Horvath belted two of the Tar Heels’ season-high six home runs.

During its four-game winning streak North Carolina has outscored its opponents 55-12 with 14 home runs and an ERA of 3.00. Horvath has hit four home runs and Alberto Osuna has smashed three as part of the streak.

After only using two pitchers over the weekend in Pittsburgh, several UNC hurlers are expected to get work on Tuesday with right-hander Jake Knapp (2-0) making the start.

The Tar Heels are 8-0 in midweek games this season with a 7-0 record at home.

The Aggies (10-9) enters the game after salvaging the final game of their three-game series against Northeastern on Sunday. Canyon Brown leads N.C. A&T with a .328 batting average and has hit safely in four straight.

A year ago, N.C. A&T recorded a 7-6 win over UNC at Boshamer Stadium to record just its second win in the series. The Tar Heels lead the all-time series 7-2.
