Saints Split with Jimmies | Presentation College Athletics

Aberdeen, S.D. – The Presentation College Saints took on the Jimmies of the University of Jamestown today in a midweek nonconference doubleheader. The Saints took game one 8-2 over the Jimmies. In the second game the Jimmies took the game by a score of Saints 3 Jimmies 10. The Saints are now 8-10 overall. 4-0 in the NSAA, and 8-6 at home.

Game #1

The Jimmies left a baserunner on base in the first inning. The Saints offense came out hot in the first inning. Cassy Loa (JR/San Diego, CA) led off with a walk. Breanna Dunn (JR/Valley Springs, CA) followed it up with a walk of her own. After an out the runners advanced up a base each. Yulissa Pena (SR/Palmdale, CA) then sacrifice flied to centerfield scoring Loa. Sarah Shevenell (JR/Madera, CA) then reached on an error. Dunn scored on the same error. Victoria Vau (SR/Ukiah, CA) then homered scoring Shevenell. After one inning of play the Saints led by 4 runs. For the second inning the Jimmies left a baserunner on after earning a walk. After an out Isabella Proctor (FR/San Tan Valley, AZ) singled. Cassy Loa got her second consecutive walk. Bella Pinotti (JR/Las Vegas, NV) then singled after an out scoring Proctor. After two innings the Saints lead was five runs. In the third inning the Jimmies got on the board with two runs. Sarah Shevenell started the third inning with a single. Victoria Vau reached on an error. Camille Vestal (JR/Madera, CA) singled to load the bases up. Isabella Proctor reached on a fielder’s choice to get the out at home. Cassy Loa got her first hit of the game and singled in Vau. Breanna Dunn then singled to score Vestal. The score after three innings was Saints 7 Jimmies 2.

In the fourth inning Jamestown got a single hit. Yulissa Pena led off with a double in the fourth inning. Sarah Shevenell then sacrificed Pena to third base. Victoria Vau single to score Pena. Camille Vestal then single to advance Vau. Katie Hanson (FR/Jasper, MN) got a single for the last hit of the inning for the Saints. In the fifth inning neither team had any hits. In the sixth inning the only offense was a walk earned by Jamestown.

The Saints got the first three batters out in the seventh inning to end the game thanks to a double play. The final score of game one was Saints 8 Jimmies 2.
