Kennedy Walks Off a Pair of Run-Rule Victories

TUCSON, Ariz. – The No. 20 Wildcats picked up two run-rule victories on the second day of the Bear Down Fiesta to improve to 24-12 this season. Arizona shutout San Diego, 10-0 (5 inn.), in the first game and run-ruled Georgetown, 12-4 in five, in the second game.
 
Olivia DiNardo, Dakota Kennedy, and Allie Skaggs all homered during the second day. Kennedy walked-off both games of the day.
 
Game 1 | Arizona 10, San Diego 0 [5 inn.]
Arizona shutout San Diego for the second day in a row behind a complete-game from Devyn Netz and a walk-off grand slam from Kennedy.
 
The Cats struck first with three runs in the first. Netz drove in the first run on an RBI single and a two-RBI single from Blaise Biringer brought in the other two runs.
 
Netz retired seven straight Toreros in the middle innings before Arizona exploded for seven runs in the bottom of the fifth. With the bases loaded, a trio of RBI singles gave Arizona a 6-0 lead. Kennedy hit her second grand slam of the season to end the game.
 
Netz improved to 11-9 with the win, allowing only one hit and striking out three batters in the game.
