May 13, 2023 – Eastern League (EL) – Harrisburg Senators News Release
For a second straight night, the Harrisburg Senators defeated the Bowie Baysox 3-2 in ten innings. After holding the Baysox in the top of the tenth, Harrisburg scored the winning run on a two-out error in the bottom of the tenth. Unlike Friday, when the Senators rallied, it was Bowie on Saturday that rallied to tie the game after the Sens took a 2-0 lead in the second inning.
The Big Play
With two outs in the tenth and Jackson Cluff at second base, Yasel Antuna grounded to third baseman Coby Mayo, who threw the ball away at first to allow Cluff to score the winning run.
On Capitol Hill
Alemao Hernandez made his double-A debut going the first four innings and allowing just a run.
Carlos Romero went two innings and allowed a run on two hits.
Garvin Alston tossed 1.2 scoreless innings.
Orlando Ribalta tossed 1.1 scoreless innings.
Tim Cate earned the win, pitching around the free runner at second base.
With the Gavel
Jackson Cluff hit a two-run home run, his second home run, to give the Senators a 2-0 lead in the second inning.
Filibusters
Trey Harris walked to extend his on-base streak to 16 games… It was the third walk-off win for the Senators this season… With the win, the Senators have taken the series from Bowie… It’s the Sens second series win this season… Harrisburg is 2-1 in extra-inning games with their win Saturday night.
On the Docket
The Senators and Bowie Baysox play game six of their six-game series at FNB Field Sunday at 1:00 p.m. The game can be heard on CBS Sports Radio Stations 96.5 FM, 95.3 FM, and 1400 AM beginning at 12:45 p.m.
