Alabama Posts Five Student-Athletes to College Sports Communicators’ Academic All-District 4 Baseball Team

TUSCALOOSA, Ala. – Alabama had five student-athletes selected to the College Sports Communicators’ Academic All-District 4 First Team for baseball, the organization announced Tuesday.

The Crimson Tide’s five honorees include Ben Hess, Grayson Hitt, Jim Jarvis, Andrew Pinckney and Caden Rose. The group make up a total of 19 baseball players that have earned a combined 24 all-district accolades in Alabama program history. With their selection, UA has had at least one all-district honoree in each of the last four seasons (Owen Diodati, Tommy Seidl and Drew Williamson in 2022; Chase Lee in 2021; and Kolby Robinson in 2020). Prior to Robinson’s selection in 2020, Alabama had not had an Academic All-District Team member since 2011.

In all, Alabama has earned 10 Academic All-America honors since 1972, including first-team honorees Dr. Jeff Laubenthal (1993), Lance Cormier (2002) and Emeel Salem (2006, 2007).

The CSC Academic All-America program recognizes the nation’s top student-athletes for their combined academic and athletic performances. As all-district selections, the five Tide players advance to the CSC Academic All-America ballot. Academic All-America honorees for a first, second and third team will be announced in June.
