SB Preview: #3 Tennessee Hits the Road for Showdown at #17 Alabama

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. – Hitting the road for the final time in the regular season, No. 3 Tennessee is set for a three-game series down in Tuscaloosa, Alabama, against the 17th-ranked Crimson Tide. The series runs April 26-28 at Rhoads Stadium.

 

Tennessee (35-8, 14-4 SEC) enters the weekend having won seven consecutive league series and 14 of its last 15.

 

FOLLOW LIVE

Eric Frede (play-by-play) and Madison Shipman (analyst) will be on the call for games two and three this weekend. Friday night’s contest will air on SEC Network+ with ESPN2 carrying games two and three on Saturday and Sunday.

NOTABLE

CONFERENCE SUCCESS

The Lady Vols have won all six SEC series they’ve played this season, including sweeps of South Carolina and Missouri.

 

Dating to May 7-8, 2022, UT has won 14 of its 15 SEC series – holding a league record of 36-9. That run includes sweeps of Auburn (2022), Ole Miss, LSU, Kentucky and Florida in 2023, with sweeps of Missouri and South Carolina this season.

 

WINDICATORS

The Lady Vols are 30-0 this season when leading after four innings. That success follows last season’s when UT went 42-1 when holding a lead after four frames.

 

ROAD WARRIORS

Over the past two seasons, the Lady Vols have gone 25-5 in true road games. That run includes three conference sweeps at No. 10 LSU (2023), at No. 16 Kentucky (2023) and at No. 23 South Carolina this season.
