Aces Fall Short 6-4 in Series Finale vs Aviators

Summerlin, Nev. – The Reno Aces (15-18) were held down by the Las Vegas Aviators (16-17) in a 6-4 loss in Sunday’s series finale at Las Vegas Ballpark. Reno now owns a 5-4 record against Las Vegas this season.

Alek Thomas drove in Reno’s first two runs on a two-RBI double to score Jancarlos Cintron and Bryson Brigman in the top of the eighth inning. Thomas, currently on an MLB rehab stint recovering from a left hamstring strain, has gone 3-for-12 (.250) with seven RBIs across three games.

Kyle Garlick came up behind Thomas and tallied his second hit of the day with an RBI single into right field. The power-hitter finished the day going 2-for-4 with a double and an RBI.

Ronaldo Hernandez gathered three hits in the loss, going 3-for-4 with a double and a solo home run in the top of the ninth to make it 6-4.

The Aces will return to Greater Nevada Field and begin their May home schedule with a six-game set against the Tacoma Rainiers, Triple-A affiliate of the Seattle Mariners. The series will begin on Tuesday, May 7 th , with an 11:05 a.m. first pitch.
