The LSU softball team got a weekend off from SEC play in the final series of the regular season, earning a much-needed win after taking two of three against Liberty at home.
That came at a good time for the Tigers, who ended SEC play on a skid, dropping their final four series. Now, No. 8-seeded LSU (38-14) heads to Auburn, Alabama for the SEC tournament where it will begin its run against No. 9-seeded Alabama (33-16) on Wednesday morning.
It will be the first meeting between the two teams this season as the Crimson Tide finished 10-14 in SEC play after dropping five of their final six series.
