Maryland Hits The Road For Weekend Series Against Boston College

COLLEGE PARK, MD — Maryland Baseball hits the road to take on former ACC foe Boston College. This will be the first meeting between the two programs since the Terrapins left the ACC for the Big Ten. Boston College leads the all-time series, with the Eagles holding a 20-9 record against the Terps. The first two games will be a doubleheader on Saturday, with both games streamed on ACC Network Extra. The final game of the series will be broadcast on ACC Network. All three games will air on the Maryland Baseball Network.

Where We Are

  • Maryland (32-18) comes into the weekend after taking a midweek win over USC Upstate 11-8.
  • After falling behind 8-0 after the top of the fifth, the Terps scored 11 unanswered runs with all the runs coming from the fifth through seventh innings. The win was the Terps’ 18th comeback win of the season.
  • The Terps hit five home runs in the game, led by catcher Devin Russell who had his first career two home run game. Kevin Keister’s seventh inning three-run shot put the Terps on top for the first time in the game at 9-8, while Devin Russell’s second two-run home run of the game made it an 11-8.
  • Kenny Lippman came on in relief to pick up his fourth win of the year, while Logan Berrier finished off the game for his conference leading sixth save of the season.
  • In the second game of the doubleheader, the Terps were led by solid pitching from Logan Koester and a pair of three run innings in the fourth and sixth to take a 6-4 win. Koester would go six innings, picking up his fifth win of the year. Logan Berrier came on and picked up the three inning save for his fifth of the season.

All-Time Series

  • The Eagles hold the advantage in the all-time series with a 20-9 record. The two teams last met during the 2014 season, which was the last for the Terps as a member of the ACC. Boston College took all three games in the series in Chestnut Hill.
