Notre Dame-Tennessee through the years

Notre Dame has seemingly as many rivals as any college football team in the country and then they’ve had compelling series with some of other great programs nationwide over the years as well.  One such program is Tennessee who the Irish have played eight times in what has been an incredibly even and fun series, but that isn’t scheduled to be played anytime in the future.

Meeting first in 1978 and last in 2005, Notre Dame and Tennessee have split their eight all-time meetings and furthermore, compelling contests have been played as Tennessee has outscored Notre Dame by an average of just 1.3 points per game in those eight contests.

With Notre Dame baseball set to take on powerhouse Tennessee for a trip to the College World Series we thought it’d be a good time to share a few photos from the two meeting in football over the years.
