ABOUT SUNDAY: With the series on the line, standout performances by J-Hwan Bae and Travis Swaggerty led the Indians to a series split against Memphis on Sunday afternoon, 6-2. Down 2-1 in the third inning after a two-run bomb by Alec Burleson in the first, the Indians put up two runs to capture a lead they would not relinquish. With major league rehabbers Kevin Newman and Ben Gamel in scoring position following back-to-back singles and a wild pitch, fellow Pirate Yoshi Tsutsugo drove in the game-tying run with a sacrifice fly. Bae then gave Indy the lead with a two-out single. Mason Martin added an insurance run with a home run in the seventh inning, his 12th of the season, and Swaggerty followed with a two-run shot to center field in the eighth.

EVEN IT UP: The Indians clinched a series split on Sunday while being at risk to fall two games below .500 for the first time this season. They have been one game below .500 (34-35) eight times this season (also: 0-1, 1-2, 7-8, 15-16, 16-17, 30-31, 31-32) with a perfect 8-0 record to return them back to the even mark. Three of those games have been won by one run, three by two runs, one by four runs and one by six runs, outscoring their opponents 45-26 in those eight games combined.

AIN’T NO LIE, BAE BAE BAE: Ji-Hwan Bae continued his torrid month of June on Sunday with a 3-for-4 showing that included a go-ahead RBI single in the third inning. He is now working a four-game multi-hit streak and has reached base safely in 56 of his 65 games played this season. After batting .322 (29-for-90) over 24 games in May, Bae is hitting .363 (33-for-91) with eight extra-base hits in 22 June contests. The 22-year-old ranks among league leaders in average (2nd, .319), runs (T-2nd, 51), hits (4th, 79), stolen bases (5th, 18), triples (T-5th, 4), OPS (8th, .879) and OBP (9th, .383).

SWAGGERTY SMASHES IT: Travis Swaggerty went 2-for-3 with a two-run bomb in the eighth inning to tack on a pair of insurance runs for the Indians. He has now hit safely in 24 of his last 28 games with a .343 average (37-for-108), 13 extra-base hits (five doubles, three triples, five home runs) and 24 RBI…
