The Rockies announced that they have selected the contract of left-hander Fernando Abad and recalled infielder/outfielder Michael Toglia. In corresponding moves, first baseman C.J. Cron was placed on the 10-day injured list with back spasms while right-hander Nick Mears was placed on the 15-day IL, retroactive to May 12, due to a left oblique muscle strain. There was already a vacancy on the club’s 40-man roster for Abad, meaning no corresponding move will be necessary in that regard.
